A certified Jeff Spicoli favourite, the Vans Slip-On (or ‘Style 98’, to give them their original name) were first introduced 1977 and quickly became firm favourite among the budding skaters and BMXers of southern California, thanks to how well they put up with severe batterings.
These new ones, the Classic Slip-On 98 DX Anaheim Factory, are essentially a direct recreation of how they used to look back in the day, but with a few tasteful 21st century touches, like cushioned insoles, higher rubber foxing and a smattering of sumptuous suede. Needless to say, they’re very good.
