A certified Jeff Spicoli favourite, the Vans Slip-On (‘Style 98’, the original name for the Slip-On’s) were first introduced 1977 and quickly became firm favourite among the budding skaters and BMXers of southern California, thanks to how well they put up with severe batterings.
These new ones, the UA Classic Slip-On 98 DX Anaheim Factory, are essentially a direct recreation of how they used to look back in the day, but sharpened up for the 21st century with cushioned insoles, higher rubber foxing and a smattering of sumptuous suede. Needless to say, they’re very good.
