Páramo’s Alta 111 Jacket is one truly astounding bit of kit – so good in fact, we’re not really what to gush over first. That fabric is pretty special – story goes that an intrepid hiker by the name of Nick Brown thought the waterproof outdoor-wear of the day was too torrid for the never-quite-hot, never-quite-cold weather in Britain, so he set out to make something that wasn’t only waterproof, but highly breathable in muggy environments as well. This chain of thought quickly led to a fabric called Nikwax Analogy. We you won’t bog you down with all the various jiggery-pokery that goes into making this stuff, so we’ll just say it’ll keep the rain off you, without leaving you sweating buckets everytime a canter is called for.
It’s also got a proverbial boat-load of highly-useful details as well: a cornucopia of plentiful pockets… wire-lined packable hood… chunky zips… that sort of thing.
And Earth-children should be able to rest easy knowing all of Páramo’s garb is made the environment in mind, making sustainable, sensible schmutter that’s built to stand the test of time. That’s a lot of waffle for one jacket we know, but this beaut is so good it deserves an Infinite Jest-length blurb written about it. Proper outstanding jacketry here.
