Well, this is pretty momentous isn’t it? C.P Company have only gone and made their first collaboration ever, with none other than everybody’s favourite Germanic genui adidas. Needless to say, the results are pretty trouser-soakingly stupendous.
The Explorer Jacket is a time-honoured C.P Company classic. According to the deep annals of the internet, Massimo Osti became obsessed with making a functional jacket with lenses sewn into the fabric after seeing the protective hoods the Japanese Civil Defense were wearing back in 1973. After plenty of tinkering in the Otsi laboratory over the years, Massimo figured out how to approiate goggles and lenses into a hard-wearing, functional jacket – thus, the Explorer Jacket was born, first appearing in C.P Company’s Spring Summer collection in 1988.
This one has been tastefully updated in cahoots with adidas, complete with all the masterful technical details the jacket is known for – totally bonkers, extremely-hard-to-describe pockets, robust, garment dyed, water resistant nylon fabric, and the of course, the all important goggle lenses on the hood and sleeve. Yep, we think it’s fair to say this one is an high-class, clobber-based master-work.
