Páramo was founded in the 1980s by an intrepid hiker named Nick Brown. Mr. Brown saw a fundamental flaw in the way waterproof fabrics commonly used in outdoor-wear worked in the never-quite-hot, never-quite-cold weather in Britain.
Brown set out to make a fabric that wasn’t only waterproof, but breathable as well - this idea quickly blossomed into what we know now as Páramo’s time-honoured Nikwax Analogy fabric.
Forward-thinking future-fabrics aside, Páramo utilises a charitable manufacturing facility in Colombia to produce all of their wares, providing ‘at risk women’ with skills and jobs.
And Earth-children should be able to rest easy knowing all of Páramo’s garb is made the environment in mind, making sustainable, sensible schmutter that’s built to stand the test of time.
Pretty good, right?
