Not to be confused with its psychoactive sibling, hemp is actually a pretty versatile plant that, according to some people could solve such world-worries as deforestation, world hunger, fossil fuel depletion and economic recession. Due to its super-fast growing times with no need for pesticides, hemp has been championed by a smattering of people as being a potential world-saver.
Robert Jungman is one of these aforementioned hemp-fans. Through his brand Jungmaven, he makes shirts and hoodies from the wonder-plant in a bid to slow deforestation outside his native Seattle. All made in the USA, Jungmaven t-shirts are the easier and potentially much less dangerous alternative to chaining yourself to a tree, and as they say on their website, “Like a sloth bear running through the woods, hemp clothing is a gentle power storm rising.”
