After a frost-bite inducing experience involving a broken down van, inadequate levels of clothing and some whiskey-fuelled roadside waddling in sleeping bags, the founders of Rumpl started to notice the dated ‘n’ drab blanket-based baloney being pumped out by the textile industry, and how camp quilt constructions were miles behind the techy fabric advancements of the outdoor gear and activewear sector. Since making their first prototype in a cramped flat in Portland, they’ve been on a decade-long mission to makes seriously toasty, ultra versatile and environmentally-pleasing puffy blankets out of plastic bottles, that are prime for picnic-scoffing, star-gazing or, by some rogue spell of unluck, any bone-chilling quandaries you might find yourself in.
