Chamula

Brought to you by Meg Company (that’s the people behind Yuketen and Monitaly), Chamula is not your average knitwear company. Whereas most knitwear in this day and age is made on high-tech machinery, this stuff is made in the remote Mexican town of Chamula by the calloused hands of Mayan knitwear elders. This may sound like something out of the National Geographic, but thanks to the wonders of the internet, you don’t have to trek on the back of a mule into unchartered territory to get your hands on the stuff.

The wool Chamula use to make their hats and cardigans is also worth a bit of a mention. It’s super-soft Merino wool that’s sheared from the sheep that graze in the area, and the stuff is so soft we’d even dare to call it ‘comfy’.
