We sell a fair bit of gear with origins in outdoor pursuits like climbing, so when we came across this video of American mad-head Wolfgang ‘Fred’ Beckey it’s fair to say it pushed a few of our buttons. German-born and now aged 88, he is best known for the hundreds of pioneering ‘first ascents’ he has notched. He is also a respected author and has been described as “A Quintessential dirtbag climber”. We’re not sure what that means but we like the sound of it.
