NOUVEAU COUNTRY
Imagine, if you will, a world where the English countryside wasn't a terrifying hell-scape populated by all sorts of shady, snooty characters and was a place you'd actually like to visit once in a while.
The sun would shine bright, the fields wouldn't be muddy-death-traps, the people would be more interested discussing cult novellas rather than beating small furry critters to death, and instead of cow dung, the sweet scent of Cornish ice cream would be ever-present.
They'd probably all dress like this gent too. Unwaxed Barbour Bedales... the finest knitwear Stone Island has to offer... French Stompers... tote bags... what could have been eh?
Of course, we've never actually stepped foot outside of the Greater Manchester, and our conception of the countryside is entirely based on a recent viewing of Straw Dogs.
