MIME ACADEMY 3: MIME YOUR OWN BUSINESS!
Believe it or not, there still exists a Blockbuster video located somewhere around Salford Precinct, that hasn't updated its stock since the early 90s. Needless to say, it's a treasure trove of straight-to-VHS delights.
One of our favourites is a film from 1987 called Mime Academy 3: Mime Your Own Business! It's the story of this chap above (played by French actor Marcel Le Grande) and his attempts to save his beloved mime academy from a group of snooty academics who want to build a business school on the land.
The film itself is really quite terrible: the acting is overblown, the writing is daft, and the mise en scène is nothing short of reductive. However, that's all pretty easy to forgive, considering the clobber is absolutely spot on. Just look at that Albam striped t-shirt and tell us you couldn't look past a few cheesy lines here and there.
The jury is still out on Mime Academy 1 and 2.
