The Go at Your Own Pace Walking, Rambling, Sitting About and Having a Nice Time Club

The Go at Your Own Pace Walking, Rambling, Sitting About and Having a Nice Time Club is a bit more casual than most walking clubs. Meeting only on the sunniest of Sundays, their afternoon jaunts have been known to stretch over into Monday morning as they stop off for light refreshments, refill their water bottles and generally sit about, having a nice time. Saying that, even their most casual members were shocked when their newest recruit turned up with nothing more than a pair of sandals on his feet. After picking their disgusted jaws from the floor, an emergency meeting was called at the nearest tea room. “We understand the cooling effects of a pair of Birkenstocks, but what about puddles… or the risk of getting dog muck stuck between your toes? It states in the membership form that boots must be worn at all time.” Just as the future of the club’s most recent convert was beginning to look uncertain, he unbuttoned his shirt, revealing for all to see he had been wearing boots after all, albeit in a highly unorthodox way. The crowd gasped, at least three people fainted and the case was reluctantly dismissed. It was an eventful day for the Go at Your Own Pace Walking, Rambling, Sitting About and Having a Nice Time Club.
