Lightning Bolt

Founded by Hawaiian surfer and occasional actor (he played Subotai in Conan the Barbarian) Gerry Lopez in 1972, Lightning Bolt originally started out as a surfboard company, focusing on making shorter boards to satisfy the demand for quicker and more responsive boards. With their short, snappy shape and trademark lightning bolt jag, the boards quickly became the most sought after on the beach, and thanks to a bit of forward thinking management (Lightning Bolt were the first surfboard company to sponsor surfers), Lightning Bolt boards were used by some of the best surfers in the world. As well as making some of the most coveted surfboards around, Lightning Bolt also know a thing or two about the art of clothing design, and their printed t-shirts, jackets and shorts are just the thing for standing around on a beach and pretending you know how to surf.
