Gloverall have been producing their famous duffle coats for over 50 years, starting in a London factory close to St Paul's Cathedral. Gloverall garments are still made in England to this day, and the name Gloverall has always been synonymous with the duffle coat.

Having taken a large batch of ex-Navy surplus stock following World War Two, Gloverall created their own market and the duffle coat enjoyed a boost in popularity following the film Cruel Sea in 1953. Demand soared and Gloverall were forced to start manufacturing their own duffle coats from scratch. In the generations since, they have perfected the design and while different types of fashions come and go, the duffle coat remains a staple in many a stylish wardrobe.
