Oliver Goldsmith was founded in 1926, spectacles at that time were uncomfortable, unflattering and uninspiring. The choice of materials was limited to very expensive tortoiseshell or cumbersome metal. Goldsmith set out to transform the way that glasses were both designed and made. His vision was that glasses could become an item of fashion, especially when worn as sunglasses.
The 60s firmly established Oliver Goldsmith as the biggest name in eyewear, and his frames went on to been seen on everybody from Peter Sellers and Michael Caine to John Lennon and Keith Richards.
