Clae is an American brand recently relaunched after a 3 year ‘incubation’. Creative director Sung Choi (formerly a designer at DC Shoes) decided to set up the brand feeling there was a void in the footwear market he and his mates wanted to wear. He set about producing trainers for grown-ups “footwear that represented our interests and activities, whether going to dinner with your lady or hanging out with your friends, footwear that goes everywhere you want to go without sacrificing style or comfort. We wanted to combine the comforts of athletic footwear with the stylings of casual footwear and come out with something new”.

In a time where the big corporate trainer companies are fighting it out with crazier and crazier colorways and more and more reissues, Clae have produced simple, strong footwear and created a product much more interesting and appealing…
